Privacy statement
Last updated on October 4, 2026
This privacy statement explains what data Fiig processes, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are. In short: Fiig collects as little data as possible and doesn't track visitors or email recipients.
Who we are
Fiig is a product of Miix (Fred Klopper), based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Miix is the controller for the processing of personal data described in this statement, except where noted below.
- Address: Groningensingel 51-45, 6835 EB Arnhem
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 09114618
- Email for privacy questions: [email protected]
What data we process
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Retention |

| Name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form), language preference, company or team name | Creating and managing your account, logging in, linking your widgets to your workspace | Performance of the contract | As long as your account exists |
| Confirmation and password links (temporary codes) | Confirming your email address and resetting your password | Performance of the contract | Until the link is used; a password link is valid for 1 hour |
| Number of failed login attempts | Protecting your account against password guessing | Legitimate interest (security) | Until you log in successfully; after 5 attempts your account is locked for 10 minutes |
| Your widget settings (such as end date, colors and texts) | Creating and showing the widgets | Performance of the contract | As long as the widget exists |
| Number of times a widget was opened, per day | Showing your statistics in the dashboard | Performance of the contract | As long as the widget exists |
We only send emails about your account (such as the confirmation email and the password reset link) when they're needed. We don't send newsletters or advertising without your consent.
Recipients of emails with a Fiig widget
Fiig users place our images in their own emails. When someone opens such an email, their email client requests the image from our server. As with any image on the internet, technical data such as the IP address and the type of email client come with that request.
- Fiig doesn't store IP addresses, email addresses or other personal data of recipients. We only count how often a widget was opened per day, as a total.
- Our hosting and network providers (see below) process the IP address to deliver the image and for security, according to their own retention periods.
- The sender of the email is responsible for their own emails and recipient list. Fiig processes this technical data on behalf of that sender. If you have a question about an email you received, please contact the sender.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work. No analytics or advertising cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| payload-token | Keeps you logged in | 14 days, or until you log out |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your language choice if it differs from your browser's language | Until you close your browser |
Who we share data with
We don't sell data. We only use providers that are needed to run Fiig, and we have agreements with them about the security and confidentiality of your data:
- Railway: hosting of the website, the database and the image server, in a data center in the EU.
- Cloudflare: security and fast delivery of the website and the images.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES): sending emails about your account, from a data center in Paris.
These providers are (part of) US companies. Where data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, this is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Security
All connections to Fiig are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only in hashed form, so we can't read them either. Users only see the widgets of their own workspace.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive your data in a common format. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within one month.
You can also delete your account yourself, under Account in the dashboard. We then delete your account right away and, if nobody else uses your workspace, also your workspace, widgets and statistics. You'll get a confirmation by email.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). We'd appreciate it if you contact us first.
Changes
We may update this statement, for example when Fiig gets new features. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. We'll let you know by email about important changes.
